The latest handmade engagement ring trends

Although our goal is to create a timeless piece that you will cherish forever, we always encourage you to infuse your current personal style into your ring. If traditional engagement rings aren’t your cup of tea, we specialize in exceptional unconventional handmade rings. Our alternative engagement rings feature bold aesthetics such as multi-stone rings, colored gemstones, and different shapes that we can flawlessly customize to your unique taste and preference.

Multi-Stone Rings

Incorporating multiple stones into your handmade engagement ring has become increasingly popular over the years. Whether it be two, three, or even more, including multiple stones in your ring can be an amazing way to illustrate your individual relationship story. Some popular choices include incorporating family heirloom stones into your custom ring or creating a three stone setting to symbolize the past, present, and future of your love story. There are endless options to creating a piece that truly embodies the nature of your relationship and love for one another, and we are immensely excited to work with you to design it!

Colored Gemstones

One of our favorite alternative options for remarkable handmade engagement rings is choosing colored gemstones over the classic white diamond! What better way to illustrate your unique relationship than choosing a colored stone (or stones!) that symbolizes whatever makes your love story special? We have a wide array of options for colored gemstones for handcrafted engagement rings, including emeralds, aquamarines, sunstones, rubies and sapphires, all of which can be used as single stones or accent stones. Whatever unique style you are seeking, we can and will find the most stunning and one of a kind option for you!

Salt and Pepper Diamonds

Salt and pepper diamonds are stones that have a mix variation of visible inclusions (such as graphite, pyrite, or hematite) scattered in an organic fashion, giving the stone a smokey or speckled appearance. Most diamonds have some kind of inclusions, but they’re frequently too small to be visible to the naked eye. Salt and pepper diamonds have larger inclusions or blemishes that create remarkable depth that makes each stone truly one of a kind. These diamonds are very popular and sought after for our alternative engagement ring styles.

Unusual Cuts

HEXAGON: A hexagonal diamond has six sides and offers a very unique diamond shape with many facets. They are known for their geometric lines and modern aesthetic, perfect for an alternative engagement ring.

SHIELD: Shield diamonds are a very distinctive shape similar to that of a warrior’s shield, hence the name. They are frequently used as side stones for engagement rings but can be used as the main stone if you are looking for an alternative engagement ring instead of a traditional stone shape.

KITE: Kite diamonds are quadrilateral in shape, similar to that of a kite. Kite diamonds are also most commonly used as side stones in engagement rings, but are becoming more popular as main stones for people seeking less traditional and more unique alternative engagement rings.

ASSCHER: Asscher cut diamonds are octagonal diamonds with a square shape and layered facets. The long, rectangular facets of asscher cut diamonds allow for a lot of light to enter the diamond and give off large flashes. Many people are drawn to asscher cut diamonds for their vintage appeal and distinctive, elegant look.

Unusual Stones

Phenakite is a rare silicate gemstone and very desirable for engagement rings. It is visually very similar to quartz, but also can be reminiscent of a diamond with a “colder” look to it. Because of its unique appearance and rarity, it is very desirable to collectors.

Rare phenakite is a very hard gem material suitable for custom handmade jewelry. Usually colorless, cut stones have little fire but can be very bright. If a transparent phenakite is cut properly, it can have a beautiful silvery sheen. Normally, phenakite faceted for jewelry is faceted as brilliant cuts, but can also be mixed cuts. Translucent phenakite can also be cut to display a striking cat's eye effect.

Aquamarine is a soft, pale blue gemstone. It is known as the gem of the sea because of its tropical ocean blue tones and bright, vibrant sparkle. Aquamarine stones offer a stunning colorful alternative to traditional engagement rings, especially if you are a lover of the beach and sea.
