Deciding to propose to the love of your life is a huge milestone in a relationship, and one of the most important details is picking out the perfect ring. At Emily Amey Jewelry we strive to create the ideal ring for your significant other, just as beautiful and unique as they are. We know how overwhelming the process might seem to some. We pride ourselves on an abundance of patience and creativity, and our decades of experience and expertise are available to help guide you through the entire process.
All of our pieces are handcrafted in house at our studio in Tarrytown, NY and focus on timeless and elegant designs. Each gemstone is vibrant and rare and is hand selected to ensure no two are the same. Our main objective is to work with you to produce the perfect piece for your budget without compromising quality, and to ensure it will bountifully represent the love and devotion in your ever-growing relationship.

Our goal at Emily Amey is not just to make a beautiful ring but also to provide an enjoyable and stress-free experience. If you need guidance or assistance we are happy to help you and will never try to rush you into making a decision. Because we specialize in alternative engagement rings, we want to ensure that we are creating a piece that embodies the taste and personality of your significant other instead of conforming to common or generic engagement ring styles.
We are a woman owned and operated company that works to create extraordinary pieces while implementing environmentally-conscious practices like using recycled gold and fine metals and ethically sourced stones of the highest quality.
Our goal is never to make the quickest sale or to sell the most expensive piece, but rather to create a one of a kind piece of handmade jewelry that will be loved and cherished long beyond the proposal, and become a treasured representation of your lifelong commitment.
If you are looking for a more traditional engagement piece, we offer an assortment of different types of diamonds including traditional white diamonds, salt and pepper diamonds, and natural diamonds. All of our diamonds are responsibly and ethically sourced and are recycled and conflict-free. We are committed to working closely with all of our suppliers to be sure that all of our diamonds are coming from places where workers are treated properly at every step of the process, including in cutting facilities and mines.

If you and your partner are interested in a more alternative engagement ring style, we offer an extensive variety of colored stones to be used as the focal piece or decorative addition to your ring. Let us help guide you to the perfect colored stone for your dream ring that will withstand long-time wear while maintaining its vibrance and beauty.
While we prefer to create pieces based on your emotional response rather than the technical aspects, we will always encourage you to know what you're paying for. The best way to determine the quality of your chosen stone(s) is to consider the 4 C's: color, clarity, cut, and carat.
For a colored stone (any stone besides diamond), color is the most important factor in determining quality. The four dimensions of color are hue position (on the color wheel), saturation (intensity), tone (degree of lightness or darkness of the color), and color coverage.

Clarity refers to the purity of the gemstone and is determined by the transparency of the stone and the existence of inclusions (any material trapped inside another mineral as it forms, such as crystals, liquid, or gas bubbles). In lamens terms, it means how clean and clear the stone is. The higher the clarity, the more valuable the stone.
Sometimes inclusions are a good thing. In emeralds, inclusions give proof that the stone is genuine. And in star sapphire or rubies, it's the 'silk inclusions' that give the asterism star effect.

Cut refers to the way the rough gem was sliced and faceted to allow the true brilliance and best saturation of the stone to emerge. We are big fans of rose cut stones, which are faceted on the top, and flat on the bottom, lending to a lower profile. We also really like unusual and one of a kind shapes.

Carat refers to the weight of the stone, but keep in mind variations in gemstone density can result in vast size differences of the same carat weight. For example, both sapphires and zircon are more dense than a diamond. So a 1ct brilliant round sapphire will be smaller than a 1ct diamond.
