Rhodolite Garnet
We love the warm pinky hue of a rhodolite garnet. It can often be mistake for pink tourmaline.
Rhodolite Garnet is a part of the large Garnet family. There are over 20 different species of Garnet, which include spessartite, hessonite, tsavorite, demantoid and rhodolite. Rhodolite has an impressive refractive index and this is the main aspect responsible for its luster. Compared to other burgundy garnets in the same category, Rhodolite Garnet stands out because of its deep purplish violet-red hue.
It has an impressive hardness – between 7 - 7.5 on the Mohs scale so it can take daily wear and tear without showing any signs of damage.
Garnets are the most widely accepted birthstone for January, and Rhodolites have recently gained popularity for the go-to color choice for anyone
