Our Values

'Fight for those without your privilege.'

This has always been a guiding principle at Emily Amey Jewelry. Every year, a portion of our proceeds is donated to progressive causes that are near and dear to our hearts. Usually centering around underrepresented women, children and LGBTQ communities.

At this crossroad, it simply doesn't feel like writing a few checks is adequate support for the communities this administration is attacking.

Across the country, there is a deliberate effort by right-wing policymakers to prevent colleges, universities, and even companies like ours from embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion. How can a nation founded on the principles of “liberty and justice for all” find itself debating the mere acknowledgment of race—let alone denying its influence on laws, institutions, and societal behaviors?

Those pushing to dismantle DEI programs often argue for a so-called colorblind America. But ignoring race does not erase its impact. Failing to acknowledge our country’s history of segregation only allows its lasting effects to persist unchecked.

Building a more just and equitable society requires both truth and action. We recognize that addressing the deep-seated effects of systemic racism is impossible if discussing or confronting them is outlawed. Those seeking to erase DEI initiatives seem to believe that ignoring a problem makes it disappear—but in reality, no issue can be solved without first acknowledging its existence.

We urge companies and institutions to stand firm in this work and resist pressure from lawmakers or others who attempt to silence progress. A future rooted in freedom, equity, and justice is not just possible—it is essential. Rather than dismantling the programs designed to create fairness in our society, we should be working to dismantle white supremacy itself.
